Evaluation

Read another class members post about their role in the school musical. Write feedback on one persons page that you worked with or observed during the muscial. Evaluate their work efforts, abilities and success.
Although i did not work with Maree during the performance, i observed the work she was doing and she did a great job. She had two roles, one was to controll the spotlight & the other was to stand behind a door:. I think she put a lot of effort into both roles and was quite successful. For getting given such a boring job of opening a door only few times throughout the performance, and for the rest sitting behind it, she did a good job and did not complain. She always made her cues.
Last minute, on the last performance she was told to swap from the 'door-opener' to spotlight, and although she was not very prepared she did a very good job. She had help from one of the other theatre light girls when needed, but usually did not need it and worked it on cue, as she followed the script.

My Role in Production

My role in the production was to operate theatre lights (working along side with Kailey). We were to stand in the mezzanine where the lighting box was and read/follow the script throughout all four performances, and operate certain lights on cue. We would take it in turns of wearing the headset to communicate with Mr. Schnieder, listen to his instructions/cues & then pass on to the other teammate who was not wearing it. A duty involved with our role was to turn on the lighting box about an hour before the show and start warming the lights up, usually up to about 20%. We were to do this at all four productions, and similarily, at the end of each production put all switches down & turn off the main button. We were more successful than not, and our successes were; working well as a team, communicating, helping eachother out and more so than not - making the cues on time. A few difficulites we faced was the 'chase' button occasionally not working, which threw us out with a few of the cues. Over all, we worked successufully.

Set

Rubix Cubes were the main props involved in the set. The backstage workers were in charge of following the script & placing the props in the correct places on cue. For example, the rubix cube places had been mapped out with masking tape on stage so it was easier for the crew members to quickly put them in place.

Visuals

Visual effects, like photos, were projected through the screen and controlled from the bio box. A few girls from the entertainment class were in charge of this role and were to play visuals on cue by following the script. This was an important part in complimenting the performance.

Theatre Lighting.

Lighting was an important area of prodcution. A few girls from the entertainment class worked on this area and basically had to follow the script throughout the entire performance and on cue, control the right light/s needed for that part of the play.

Costumes

This photo depicts some of the chorus' costumes for the production. They are very colourful and are clothes like those worn in the era of the 80's, which all helps to persuade the audience that they are preforming from that time. Costumes were mainly handled by Miss Purcell, but some of the crew helped out aswell.

Makeup


This Photo depicts the type of makeup worn for production. As shown, the girls all have very distinct and bright makeup on, obviously reflecting the times of the 80's. A few of the girls from the entertainment class were in charge of this part of production and did a great job!
